filming process

We did manage to go to both locations, but the first location in the rainbow tunnel, St. Pancras International, was very difficult to film in because it was a busy day and members of the public were feeling uncomfortable with walking past our filming. I did use a couple of the clips from the station at the end of the video though.

I really liked the colours in the station shots, i think it would be a good shot to break up the video in between the garden clips. I used a wide establishing shot at the start of the video to set the scene of the green garden setting.

For the opening of the music video, I took the same idea that i had planned beforehand in the storyboard, but just in a different location. After filming this clip, i watched it back and decided i liked how the background setting of under a tree and the treetops being in the shot still when the camera tilts up.

For the second shot, i got a long shot of myself sitting on the bench moving to the music, this turned out how i planned except because of not using the tripod, the filming was a little shaky, but i moved along the bench in different positions, so that I could integrate the images later

I lip synced to the lyrics for half of a verse, moving to the top of the stairs just to switch it around a bit, I planned on mirroring these shots in the editing process so i sang towards the middle of the screen, so that it would look like i'm talking to myself

I had to climb over the wall to sit up here and my friend filmed me from a low angle, i looked down at the camera and lip synced. The reason i used a low angle here is it makes me seem more powerful and dominant in the scene than the person who's point of view it would be if the camera was someone's eyes

This shot was very dramatic but i just wanted a mid shot from the side, using the metal bars in front of me as a dynamic foreground, rather than just me and a wall.

This is one of my favourite shots, a long to mid tracking shot where i looked directly at the camera as i walked past it. This was the only tracking shot in the video but i think it works really well. This shot is a little more close up than the rest and the eye contact together with the track movement gives the personal effect that i was going for in my storyboard.

I sat on this wall because I wanted to use the vine as a prop to learn on as it was quite visually interesting

Long shots and head on angles were used here, to capture the whole body especially as it walks towards the camera. I positioned myself in the middle of the frame on purpose to be right in the middle of the balcony.

An establishing mid shot of the scenery, The video is set in a very green area and I wanted to capture that in many of the shots by having a lot of background in frame.

I got an over the shoulder shot lip syncing

For the last few shots of the video i got a clip of me walking away on a forest path, then to match the lyrics of the song and sum up the video, i asked someone by text where they were and they sent their location

I used over the shoulder point of view angles for this, so that the audience feels they are reading their own phones and so that the whole idea of reading a text relates to the camera's perspective more than if the shot was taken from the side.

This last shot was my favourite of the whole video, i changed the lighting and colours around in the editing process but i got a mid shot of myself standing with a lit up wall behind me that came out pretty nice. A mid shot was the best option to use here because i wanted just my upper body in the frame but the coloured background to still be visible.

I used this very very wide shot taken from a higher angle of me walking towards the camera because i liked the symmetry of the setting and wanted to show it at a very wide angle
